Hi Melissa,
I know that you have no idea who I am, but I have been following y'all's blog pretty much since the Jamestown 400, and I'm finally coming out of lurking. :-) I have a question for you: In the first picture in this post, (Lovely party, by the way!) you show your hand with really bad eczema. My Mom has recently gotten hand eczema, and it is driving her crazy! She really wants to get rid of it, and has tried various lotions and herbal salves, but with no success...yet. Do you have any suggestions for making it go away? I would love to know if you do! Thanks!

Hi Caroline!
My advice is to eliminate stress :). That's what makes mine worse. I know it is an internal issue and I'm thinking yeast/fungus related. So, I have been trying to treat it internally. If I wasn't nursing, I would take a product by "Garden of Life" called "fungal defense". It has cleared up other weird skin problems I've had in the past. I just don't know if it is to strong to take while nursing. Right now I am taking a probiotic and an alkalizing powder by Young Living (http://www.youngliving.com/natural-health-supplements/Alkaline). An alkaline body is less susceptible to disease. You can buy some from me if you want to get a wholesale price. Find me on FB and message me and we can go from there if interested. I would definitely start with the "fungal defense" (you can get it from vitacost.com) and try and eliminate sweets for awhile. Hope one of those ideas can help. Oh, and while the wound was more open, I taped cotton balls soaked in colloi! dal silver around my fingers and that helped it feel better at night, especially when it itched.

I am IN LOVE with this party! It is so beautiful! I love planning parties and can't wait until I have an excuse to plan away to my hearts content. At my wedding in April we had a butterfly release. I know some couples like releasing doves, but I adore butterflies and it was a very unique touch. I can't wait to see the rest of the party!

Thanks for the suggestions! I showed them to Mom and she will look into them. She is also making a cream made with calendula for the broken and oozing skin and a cream with comfrey, chamomile, and witch hazel to hopefully help with the itching and swelling. Stress would be hard to eliminate. :-)

I'm another lurker coming forward! The necklaces are darling and a great idea! Thank you for sharing where you got your supplies...that is so helpful for a newbie like me. I am very interested in learning about your use of natural remedies and "whole foods". I am trying to move away from processed items and pharmaceuticals! I remember a post with your mom helping your son recover from a cold using oil/massage...do you have a reference that you use, or can you suggest a starting point for someone who is VERY new to this approach of health and healing? Sorry for the long comment, your party was lovely!

Hi Lissa: What a grand time you all seem to be having! A lot of work went into this, I can see. I never heard of a Butterfly Party, and wonder where you got the idea. I just LOVE all shades of purple, and you ladies did an awesome job from decorations, to prizes to your various outfits in fulfilling all areas with this color scheme. Again, Melissa, your dress here is lovely. Where do you get the time and patience for all you do? Have a great fall! Love, Linda

Melissa you seem like an amazing person and I'm so glad we crossed ways...
Wish you were close by so we can visit with each other. It sounds like we have lots in common.
By the pictures I can tell the party was a success.
All the best honey,
